I don't really make music anymore because I found that people don't really let me know if it matters to them or not. Artists are notorious for needing to know they have changed the world in some way shape or form. Without the validation, it's like yelling into a thunderstorm.

I enjoy what I have made. I listen to it in my car. I get a tear once in a while about it, but over all, I am okay with not being well known.

If one person here's a song, and it does something for them, that is a gift in and of itself.

I may never know how this music affects people, and that is okay.

I do still hope that you'll get something out of my art, though. If not you, I hope it reaches the right person at the time they need it most.

If you thought that I was stopping, I ain't sleeping till I'm dropping. I can sleep when I'm dead. Time to get a move on. If you see that I'm rocking, don't you come knocking me down, down, down. If you really love me, you'll let me fly. If you really love me, you'll let me fly. If you're not feeling a connection in your upper mid-section, you can take your leave. Time to get a move on. If you're not liking who I am, don't you try to change me 'round, round, round. If you really love me, you'll let me fly. If you really love me, you'll let me fly. If you really wanna know what life is, if you really wanna know what freedom is, it's the altitude of love. If you really need me, baby, you gotta let me fly. Yeah, oh.

about

Until the production of this album I had produced my own music. Although this album sounds pretty good, I never felt like it sounded like my work. The musicality and instrumentation is on point, but the mix is not exactly how I would have done it. It's not perfect, but it is the most polished and complete, and highly invested-in piece of work I have created thus far.

It's taken me nearly 8 years to upload this album because of the above mentioned reasons. I haven't played much in the past near decade, or wrote any new songs, and I barely sing at my full potential anymore (unless I'm road-tripping alone with Adele or Sigrid on full blast). Listening to this album brings back some fond memories, but also the bitter ones from attempting to achieve a career as a songwriter. I'm sure I'm one of billions who have written and produced an album. I know I'm a grain of sand in the artists of time. I have come to terms with the loss of tens of thousands of dollars earned from non-musical sources and invested into my pipe dream. I have come to terms with my heart and soul being poured onto paper and strummed into existence only to fall on deaf ears and easily turned youtube/tiktok eyes.

Why now? If I still feel all of those things, why on Earth would I decide to put this up now? It's what artists do. They keep trying. They keep hoping. They keep plugging. Who knows, maybe one day it'll pay off? Maybe. I guess you'll let me know if you like what you hear.
